Some racing games require fuel, and others require drifting skills, but Speed Stars only requires your feet and an almost obsessive, precise rhythm. It's an athletics race where you control each step of the athlete by tapping the keys or touching the screen. It sounds simple, but just one wrong tap and your character will plummet headfirst to the ground as if they've forgotten how to run.

In Speed Stars, you don't control your character by holding down buttons to run. Instead, each step corresponds to a tap. Left tap, right tap… alternating like a piece of music where you are both the player and the conductor.
The game usually starts with 100m races, where reflexes at the start determine almost the entire outcome. If you tap too early, a false start will cost you immediately. If you're a beat too slow, your opponent will pull ahead in just seconds.
Additionally, there's a relay mode (4x100), where you not only need to run well but also maintain consistent performance throughout each leg. The feeling of catching up in the last 10 meters or being overtaken right at the finish line is what makes this game so annoyingly addictive.
Many new players tend to press randomly to increase speed, but that only makes the character lose control. Instead, maintain a steady rhythm like a clock. Once you get into the rhythm, you'll feel the speed increase very noticeably.
A good start almost gives you an advantage from the beginning. Sometimes, just one false start can ruin the entire race. Therefore, precise timing is more important than running fast later on.
Many competitors have an excellent first 60 meters but run out of steam at the end. If you maintain a steady pace and don't panic, you can absolutely hawk down your opponents in the final meters.
Speed Stars has a very special feel: you might be behind, but if you maintain a good pace, the gap will gradually close. And sometimes, victory is decided by… just one pixel at the finish line.
Speed Stars isn't a complex game, but it has surprising depth. It transforms seemingly simple things like running straight ahead into a battle of reflexes, rhythm, and patience. If you're used to controlling your footwork in Speed Stars, perhaps it's time to try controlling… your life in House of Hazards.
