House of Hazards is a multiplayer party game where you try to do… extremely normal things like drinking coffee, brushing your teeth, or retrieving mail, while others do everything they can to make you disappear right in the middle of the house.

It sounds simple, but once you step into that house, you'll understand: nothing is safe. Doors, chandeliers, faucets, and even the vacuum cleaner can be the culprit.

How to Play House of Hazards

Complete missions under suspicion

Each turn, you'll be given a small mission. For example, go get coffee in the kitchen. Sounds easy, right? The problem is, along the way, you always have the feeling someone is waiting to play a trick on you.

You walk into a room, see no one… but hesitate for a moment. And often, that very moment saves you from a chandelier falling straight on your head.

Set traps and play pranks

If you're not the one doing the mission, you'll control the traps in the house. Every object can become a malicious prank: opening a cupboard at the right moment to hit an opponent in the face, turning on a faucet to make them slip, or simply timing it perfectly to drop a lamp from the ceiling.

The great thing is that you don't control the character directly but the environment. It's like sitting in the dark, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Dodging and Reflexes

As the main player, you can dodge, jump, or duck to avoid traps. But it's not always possible. There are instances where you are certain a trap will be triggered, but you cannot anticipate the timing. A slight misjudgment can easily lead you back to the beginning.

Constantly Changing Missions

The game doesn't make you do the same thing all the time. You've just finished your coffee, and the next task might be brushing your teeth, going out to get the mail, then driving somewhere.

Each area has its own traps. Indoors, there are lights, fans, and roomba. Outside, there are water fountains, skateboards, garage doors… It feels like every step is a chance to try your luck.

Why is House of Hazards so popular?

The fun of House of Hazards lies in its ability to create incredibly silly moments that are extremely enjoyable when played with friends. At times, you find yourself in the lead, nearly finishing the final mission, only to fall victim to a ludicrous trap. Or conversely, you spend a whole minute waiting for the perfect click.

The game also has random effects that penalize the leader, such as reversing controls or slowing down speed. These things keep the game from ever being one-sided.

The graphics are simple, and the characters are chibi-style but enough to recognize who's doing what in a rather amusing chaotic mess.

House of Hazards isn't a game to play alone for too long. It's made for playing with others, to laugh at being pranked, and to retaliate immediately afterward. Each game is like controlled chaos, where the smallest things become the biggest challenges. And if, after those temper-damaging, destructive sessions, you want to switch to an experience with cars and drifting, we have Drift Hunters.
