Basketball Master 2 is a physics-based puzzle basketball game. The main goal is to get the ball in the hoop by calculating the angle, force and trajectory of the throw. You need to look at the whole level and use surrounding objects to make the right path instead of just shooting straight at the basket.
The game has 40 levels of increasing difficulty. The initial levels are fairly simple, allowing you to get used to the controls, but as you move on the layouts become more complex and new mechanics are introduced, making each shot a mini physics puzzle. You pull the ball for change of direction and power and then you release for the shot.

Every object in the level can trigger a different reaction upon impact. Therefore, rather than just looking for the shortest route to the hoop, you need to calculate how the ball will move after each collision.
If the ball hits the wooden blocks hard enough the blocks can crack. When the ball hits it loses a little momentum, but not as much as it would if hitting ice.
Ice can also break on impact. But the ball loses a lot more force so a shot through ice has to be very carefully calculated to make sure the ball can still make it to the target location.
Stone surfaces cause the ball to bounce vigorously, potentially sending it in a new direction at high speed. This sometimes allows you to use a ricochet to reach areas inaccessible via a direct shot.
Cushioned surfaces also cause the ball to bounce. If you get the angle right, you can turn them into waypoints along the trajectory, allowing the ball to curve around obstacles.
As you progress, Basketball Master 2 focuses more on combining multiple mechanics within a single level. Simple shots give way to maze-like layouts where the ball must navigate various zones and constantly change direction before reaching the hoop.
Certain levels are mini-mazes that are filled with obstacles. You’ll find circular structures and curved, bow-shaped ones. These shapes result in different angles of collision, making the ball’s trajectory harder to predict.
You have to look at the whole level, not just where the hoop is, to see the path of the ball and what objects you need to hit and how the ball will bounce.
In certain levels the hoop will move around the play area rather than being fixed. This is part of the puzzle, the timing of your shot. The ball has to travel in a trajectory that is exactly lined up with the hoop.
There are also special rings with pictures of famous basketball players in the game. So when the ball hits these rings it bounces off and keeps going in a new direction. You can use them as rebound points to shoot in a curve.
Teleportation portals are one of the mechanics that make later levels more exciting. When the ball goes through a portal it disappears in one place and immediately reappears in another in the level.
These portals allow the ball to go through areas that are not reachable with normal movement. But getting the ball in the right portal is just the first part, it still has to get to the hoop once it comes out the other end. That means you have to watch both the entry and exit points of the portal before you fire.
In complex levels, portals could be accompanied by obstacles, bounce surfaces, and maze-like paths. So one shot can bounce off and change course multiple times before it reaches its destination.
You might have to smash a wooden block, bounce the ball off a surface, go through a portal and hit an object before hitting the hoop. A minor error in force or direction at any stage can cause the ball to go off its course.
Basketball Master 2 is not only about accurate shooting. The throwing force determines whether the ball can pass the obstacles, the angle determines where it lands and the bounce direction.
If you need to break through wood or ice, you might want to throw hard, but don't put so much on it that the ball bounces too far away. Or you may find that a gentler touch is better at negotiating the ball through a set of bounce points.
You need to see the whole path of the ball as you move forward, not just the first contact. The central challenge of the game is this combination of basketball and physics.
If you have played Unmatched Basketball, you will find that Basketball Master 2 offers a different approach by transforming shots into puzzles based on trajectory and physics.
The goal remains simple: get the ball into the hoop. But to do that, you must know when to throw hard, when to ease up, which objects to hit, and how to use surfaces to alter the ball's trajectory.
