Golf Hit is a type of golf game where the goal isn't just to get the ball into the hole but to hit it so hard that it flies through everything in its path. Initially, you only hit a few dozen feet, which feels quite normal. But with just a few upgrades, things start to get out of control. A powerful swing sounds like a cannonball, and the ball flies as if it's just been fired from the surface of the Earth.
The core of the game lies in timing. You press at the right time to achieve the perfect shot, and if you do that, the distance will increase significantly. However, the difficulty lies in the fact that this timing isn't always simple to predict, especially as the game speed increases. Just a slight deviation will cause the shot to lose much of its effectiveness.
After each shot, you receive money and use it to upgrade. When you increase strength, the shot becomes noticeably stronger, but focusing only on power isn't enough. Speed helps the ball maintain momentum, while bounce determines whether it can utilize terrain to travel further. When these metrics combine, you'll see shots go from simply going far to flying haphazardly through all sorts of things in their path.
One of the intriguing aspects is that Golf Hit doesn't keep you on a fixed golf course. When you meet certain conditions, you can unlock new areas, from lava planets to places with almost surreal colors. The ball now not only flies over trees or houses but also collides with satellites, strange creatures, and even things floating in space. Each shot feels less like playing golf and more like testing the limits of the game.
It's easy to realize after playing for a while that you shouldn't focus all your energy on strength. Without speed, the ball will lose momentum rapidly and the distance won't improve much. Bounce is equally important, as many long shots actually come from the correct bounce angle rather than the initial force. Additionally, practicing the perfect shot is always worthwhile, as it makes a significant difference. And if the ball sometimes flies back towards you, don't be surprised; it's almost part of the game's signature feature.
Golf Hit doesn't try to be a realistic golf game but rather takes the complete opposite approach. It exaggerates everything to a somewhat absurd degree, then lets the player discover for themselves how far a shot can go. The more you play, the more you wonder about the next shot, not the last one.
